AMERICAN POLITICS
This course will provide you with an overview of some of the classic and new controversies in American politics research. We will study both American political behavior and institutions for you to gain better understanding of each of these areas of research and the connections between the insights from these areas to gain a fuller understanding of American Politics. As we delve into each topic, you will be exposed to various approaches to research, both theoretical and methodological, which will help you to critically evaluate the research of other scholars individually and the literature as a whole and ultimately to help hone your skills in order to produce original research. The goal is to not only understand the concepts and topics that we will discuss in this course but to engage with the scientific process and be able to critically evaluate, manipulate, and apply the information and methods learned in this course to other classes and your own research.
